The hotel is 4 stories high, was built in 1983 and renovated in 2002, was refurbished in 2006 with new carpeting and furniture, and has 192 guest rooms, two restaurants, abundant grassy areas, excellent parking including RV parking without hookups, and great ballroom and meeting room facilities in the adjacent Convention Center. Several nearby hotels accept dogs and could accommodate overflow, and there is a KOA RV park 4.3 miles from the hotel (http://www.koa.com/where/ks/16104/).

On the weekend before the Specialty there will be two all-breed shows hosted by the Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club. These will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, just ten minutes away from the hotel. RV sites with electrical hookups are available there with advance reservations (see the LKJC Premium List for info). See "MAPS" for a map showing the route from the hotel to the all-breed shows.
