BUT, they are not working dogs, they are bred to be the light of your life, particularly if you like waiting on and spoiling a four legged friend. So don't go by how you think they look, learn about what they are really like on this site.

Before you dash off and buy one from a newspaper ad, a pet store, or an internet website, please spend some time learning about the breed. OWN Owning a Frenchies is a major commitment. These are not "outside" dogs, they are not dogs that walk themselves. These are dogs that become family members. Some of them are good with children, some of them are not, some are couch potatoes, some are prey driven. BREED Thinking of breeding your Frenchie? That is not a simple thing to do and even very experienced breeders can be surprised by the results of their breeding. JUDGE The FBDCA is very active in developing effective Judges education programs for those who are judges or training to be judges in the American Kennel Club. Frenchies are not the easiest dogs to judge. We believe that it is in the best interests of the breed to provide superior education.
